Candle Safety

With proper use and care, your new candle will bring you many hours of enjoyment. Please read the safety warnings before burning your candle.

REMOVE ALL PACKAGING, TAGS, AND RIBBONS FROM CANDLE BEFORE BURNING!

NEVER leave a burning candle unattended or within reach of children or pets.

  • For best results, keep wicks trimmed to 1/4 inch (1/8 inch for soy candles).
  • Place candle on a level, heat resistant surface, and keep out of draft.
  • When you light your jar candle for the first time, burn for at least three hours, or until the melt pool completely stretches across the top of the candle. This first full burn will set the candles memory, and will help prevent wick tunneling in future lightings.
  • Because each candle is individually hand-poured, colors may vary slightly from batch to batch.  Burn times are approximate and may vary depending on candle color and scent.
  • When burning candles, DO NOT MOVE while lit, as you you could burn yourself or your furniture with hot wax or with the hot container.
  • Votives are NOT free standing candles. Always use proper, tight-fitting holders with all votives.
  • NEVER burn a candle in a broken or chipped jar. It could possibly shatter.
  • ALWAYS keep burning (and not burning) candles away from children and pets! Hot wax burns, and scented cold wax can smell delicious, and children and pets don't always know the difference between food and wax.
  • Blowing out candles can be dangerous, as sparks and hot wax can fly out of the container. Always snuff your candles out, or use a wick dipper to eliminate any potential disaster.
